Update. On Everything.

Let's see. I went to Colorado, my new computer came in, summer is coming to an end and school will be starting soon...so much is suddenly happening all at once and I am not sure if I can keep up. But, I guess I'm pretty happy right now.

Last week I went to stay with a good friend in Colorado Springs and my brother came with me to get some "away time." It was a lot of fun. On the way through New Mexico a bear ran across the road...which surprised me a bit. My brother and I went camping at the Crags in a wilderness-ish area on the back of Pike's Peak. Our campsite was between 10,000-11-000 ft. which was pretty intense for use low-altitude people. I am really glad Cassie was there with us to help set up. We would have passed out before we even got up the hill if it wasn't for her help. It was totally worth it though, even though we only stayed there one night and most of the next day. Brian overexerted himself a bit and we were both pretty tired and ready to go back down the mountain. It was very beautiful, and very, very quiet. Except for around sunrise... chipmunks
can be quite noisy. I stayed awake most of the night (not by choice) and since I had a little plastic window on my tent, I was able to look up at the many stars all night. They were especially beautiful when I went and woke Brian up to stand guard and give me some light when I got up to pee...since we went to bed just after it got dark, it was only midnight when I got up...and there was no way I was going to wait till morning or go by myself and get eaten by a bear. Anyway, it was pretty. And I have decided I would much rather pee next to a tree than go in one of those camp bathrooms. Thems are gross, yo.

The next day after sleeping in a bit, we got up and went down the hill a little ways and went hiking on the Crags trail. We didn't make it the whole trail, but we got a good chunk of it done, and it was super pretty. I took lots of pictures and Brian got to use it water filter. It was a good thing we packed up when we did, because it started raining, which it does every afternoon, but we got lucky for out camping weekend and it only sprinkled. We did have to wait for the rain to die down once while packing up, but other than that it wasn't bad. The rest of the week Pike's Peak was wrapped in rain and clouds.

We finally headed back to the Springs and crashed. My futon felt great after sleeping on the ground. The days following were pretty normal, but fun. We visited several nearby towns, I tried out several coffee shops Agia Sophia was the first one we went to, and was my favorite.

We pretty much just toured around for the rest of the week. We went to the Glen Eyrie Castle and revisited the Western Museum of Mining and Industry which Brian and I had been to with our parents a number of years ago.

Perhaps the most awesome place of all was the penny arcade in Manitou. Seriously amazing. There were some crazy old games there and they were all original price. So, I did in fact pay 5 cents to play a game. They had so many games it would have been ridiculous if it wasn't so awesome.

On the way home from CO we stopped in Enid for some of the best chicken ever. Golden Tenders, know there was Golden Chicks. So. Good. Yes, we do in fact make trips just to go to a fast food restaurant to get their chicken and rolls.

There were a lot of field full of dead corn on the way home. And cows. But the cows weren't dead...yet. Just getting fattened up at the stockyard place. Also, did you know OK has plateaus? Like rather pretty ones? They are the "Gloss Mountains." Which are actually the "Glass Mountains," except everyone says it wrong because of one typo...

Anyway, that was the trip in a nutshell. I got to wear a jacket and tank top interchangeably and it was awesome.

A few days after coming back to 112*F weather, my laptop came in! I am on it now, and quite happy with it. It has quad core and radeon dual graphics, among many other impressive and pretty things. Oh, and it is an HP. Go HP.

I am getting pretty excited about going back to school, but this summer has gone by so fast I'm not sure how I am ready yet. I have spent this summer resting my brain a lot and trying to unstress before starting a very hectic portion of my life. Oh, life.

Oh yes, and I am reading this book. Which so far, it quite good.
