This year for lent I gave up procrastination. It has been difficult, but it is going ok. Before I came to JBU, I knew about lent, but I didn't really know what it was or anyone who took part in it. I guess I still don't know much about it. I do know however, that it is an extremely valuable opportunity to force oneself to give up something. Whether it is to break a habit, or start a new one, or just give up something for awhile so that you are not reliant on it. It is a complete cleansing of yourself in that area, mentally, physically, and spiritually. I think it is a good habit to get into. Giving things up or fasting from things for awhile seem like a good way to calm your spirit and improve your person.
