Curtains!

I finally  finished my curtains. It took forever and I am never doing that again. But they look great! Though not the way I expected them too. I added dark, chocolaty brown curtains behind them so they did not get washed out when I hung them in front of the window. This whole process was a challenge really.

  • Getting the motivation to get all the supplies I needed
  • Marking the 6 inch blocks so I could paint straight
  • Discovering it took forever to paint one panel much less two.

Painting....

  • Finally getting one curtain done and hung up
  • Kept telling myself I should really paint the other panel eventually

Ugly blinds. Bad cell phone photo.
I really should get my camera in working order.

  • Painting the other one and going through the challenge of hanging it

Done!

The most difficult part was hanging them. The striped curtains are just pinned over the brown curtains. More difficult than it sounds. The rods are the little cheap ones from walmart hanging on command strip hangers. There is not only a rod for the brown and striped curtains, but also a rod for the white curtains behind the brown curtains to cover up the ugly blinds. I like to let the daylight in, but not give up my privacy, so I ended up pushing the blinds out of the way and during the day, clip the brown curtains behind the striped. Way more complicated than it should be, but it is done, and I have cute curtains that match my blog..or maybe the other way around.
